There is a measles outbreak right now. There is also an anti-vaccine outbreak going on concurrently.
Question #1: The comments from where I found this picture indicated that this person seemed to be part of the medical profession, specifically a nurse. A person not in this profession might be a bit more naive, but why, do you think, would someone who should have intimate knowledge of medicine have this type of view?
Question #2: Vaccines have the express purpose of helping prevent us from getting the disease, while also helping prevent the spread of the disease. Knowing this, why would someone be willing to expose others to the disease (again, keeping in mind the profession this person is in)?
Zean,
To somewhat answer question #2. Yes even though we the people expect healthcare professionals to always take the same advice they are giving, some may have health conditions that prevents them from taking certain vaccines if not all. Also some doctors or nurses don’t take it because they themselves might not feel it’s necessary for their health, having taken other medications/vaccines in the past.
