Sharing one’s work in a partner or group workshop is a fantastic way to get feedback on one’s writing. Academic writing does not occur in a vacuum, thus audience perception is essential to the revision process in order to ensure your message is clear and effective.
Peer review is also a great equalizer, as everyone gets to experience the process of presenting their working drafts. In that vein, all feedback–whether oral or written–will be constructive and respectful.
