In pharmacology we had to research a natural herb and find any interactions it may have with any medications a future patient might be taking. We learned that simply because it is “natural” does not mean it does not have any side effects or interactions with other drugs. As oral health care providers it is imperative that we know as many possible side effects or interactions with medications both synthetic and natural in order to provide our patients with the best possible care.
