The Booker Sumner Community Health Center was founded in 2014. About our staff:
The Executive Director of the program is, Saudia Garnette (top left). Saudia is a Licensed Master Social Worker with a very broad background. She earned her Master of Social Work Degree from Rutgers University. She earned a Bachelors in Art History from Hunter College. In additional for many years she worked as a Crisis Counselor. She has been working with the elderly and people in crisis in Manhattan for the past 15 years.
The Licensed Counselor for the program is Janie Dough. Janie is a Licensed Clinical Counselor. She earned her Masters Degree from Columbia University and has been a Counselor and a leader/ facilitator for group work for the past 17 years. Prior to working with the elderly Janie worked with Children in the public school system
In addition, our staff includes 2 Master level interns, two Bachelor Degree level interns and 5 high school level interns and volunteers from the community.
We have partnerships with over 100 local businesses and schools to provide additional support, programs and services to the elderly.
