Homework for Monday, Feb 25

Hi Class,

I think we made good strides in reading difficult texts today. Emerson is not easy, but he is not impossible either.

For Monday, bring in a full draft of Essay 1 (at least 700 words), including the quotations and the works cited page. Make sure to proof and edit your work as best you can.

We will peer review the essay most of the period, so come ready to read and learn a lot about how your classmates write and think.

Bring in any questions that you have, too.

Cheers,

Prof.  Scanlan

Facebook and Privacy:

Hi Class,

Many of you might be on Facebook, and you also might know that privacy is not really granted in the online world. This article from Time Magazine makes it clear that you need to be extra careful about what kind of information you put on your social media pages because colleges or employers—almost anybody—can gain access to it.
