Shake Shack

20141006_140904

As I was walking home from my last class that ended at 1:40 pm. I was starving. I was in a hurry to meet my mom and I had walked through the alley and saw Shake Shack right in front of me. Too bad I could not get a burger for lunch. The weather was perfect. It was about seventy degrees and sunny. You can see the busy side walks where people were in a hurry to get to their destination, but I noticed the lady gassing through the window of Shake Shack. I hope she bought a burger.

Afternoon by the Belt Pkwy

image1I took photo overlooking the Verrazano bridge, this shot was actually taken from sitting on the barrier from separating the running lane to the water. The sun is setting in a way in which it almost fits into the little space from the bridge and the ranges behind it. I was actually on a drive by my self and just happened to stop here because one I didnt know where else to go and two I needed to go back home. What strikes me as interesting from this picture is my phone only accepting light from the sun and darkening everything else around it. The sun creates a focus point while, it also creates a contrast from lightening the sky with the clouds and darkening the bridge and everything else. Obviously this isnt how my eye processed the shot before I took it.

By the Brooklyn Bridge

As I was between the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge, I took a gleam at the portrait of Manhattan and took a shot before going to Manhattan by walking through the Brooklyn Bridge. As I was there by the Brooklyn Bridge, I was near the Ferry Terminal and took out my camera and shot a picture shown. There is a clear sky showing its starting to get dark soon. It was a chilly day as there are many buildings found in Manhattan. You can see Lower Manhattan as it’s taken by the ferry. The clear blue sky and the clouds focus on Manhattan and its landscape as the buildings show image of the busiest borough in New York.

Jay Street Metro Tech, Brooklyn

IMG_0222I took this picture this morning as I got off the train and went to get a cup of coffee. This part near City Tech reminds me of the city as during the afternoon, it gets very crowded. Often, I’ll see many different people, from students to business workers to casual people. Buildings surround this place and there are places to eat if you go further down. While it reminds me of Manhattan as it can get crowded and busy, it also reminds me of where I come from, in Serbia. In Belgrade, the capital city of Belgrade, there is a location similar to this one. It’s surrounded by trees, buildings and cafe, food places to eat. Being that it is in the city, it gets crowded with workers and other people. However, although it does get crowded in this area and reminds me of being in the city, it is also calm and relaxing at the same time. Everyone minds their business and does what they have to do.

Lockers

Lockers

After a moment of indecision, I decided to place this photo. I decided to take this photo because every time I sit down to wait for the teacher to open the lounge I think a lot. I always liked to see these lockers, but ever since I saw them on film and said “I never know who is having one of those” when I was living in my country. I am now in this country, I have one and it makes me feel happy and excited every time I think of myself when I was little. Whether it is to have your own personal space in a large building in which you spend most of the day studying.

Brooklyn Bridge Park Piers

Brooklyn Bridge Park Piers

This photo was taken by the Brooklyn Bridge Piers last Thursday afternoon. It was the first time I set foot at that beautiful place. The view was so breathtaking I could not contain my excitement so I took my iPhone out and captured the photo. In this picture shows Manhattan on the other side. On the left side appears to be the Lettie G. Howard schooner. Then on the right side shows an old couple and the woman is sitting near her husband. In my opinion, the lady in the red jacket stands out the most. Even though the clouds were gray, the view and the water still gave a calming effect on me.

My View Going Home

My View Going Home

I took this photograph on my way home from school while riding the Staten Island Ferry. This photo displays a view of the skyscrapers and building in lower Manhattan on a beautiful sunny day. I really like this photo because the viewer can see that the photograph was taken from the inside looking out since you can see the window. I feel like the window glorifies and enhances the image because the bottom and sides of the photo show darkness and the window pane displays the natural sunlight hitting the buildings and the ocean. This is the typical view that I have on my way home and I enjoy it because it is soothing to me, especially since I know I am going home. The greatest part about the photograph is that there were no filters used.

Brooklyn Bridge Promenade

IMG_0073

This photograph was taken on Monday evening. This photo shows us the downtown skyline as the sunsets in the distance. The yellow lighting in the background gives us a sense of warmth while the blue sky keeps the tone soft. There are shadows on the concrete, mixing in to compliment the beautiful sky. The buildings appear to be shooting up from the ground as they touch the sky, and look so close that you can almost touch them.

Waiting on ‘A’ Train

Moving train

Today i was waiting on the ‘A’ train like usual everyday, and decided to take a picture of the train as it was now arriving to its stop at jay st. metro tech. The train is pretty old and rusted, and makes a lot of noise as its stopping, it’s mostly crowded everyday but today for some reason it was pretty empty ,  probably because it was around 6 p.m.  when all the school kids are home. There’s a bright row of white lights that lead all the way down the station, which keeps everything looking bright as day no matter how late it is.  The reflection that came off the trains glass window from my flash was pretty cool too, gives the photograph a great effect.

A Busy Day on Jay Street

A Busy Day on Jay Street

In this photograph, I took a picture in front of the main entrance of New York City College of Technology. It shows the busy Jay Street, crowded with people across the street ahead, going on with their day. All of the Citi bikes lined up in a straight row and a curved “No Standing” sign in front of the bike racks. On the left side a car is driving to a green light.I took this picture as I was leaving the college in the afternoon and it just gave me a feeling of how Rockefeller Center is always so busy and that I can relate Jay Street to Manhattan. With all of the huge buildings on the left and right side, the middle is an opening like a pathway to the light ahead. I did not use any filters for this photograph.
