  1. One more time, what are the three parts of a thesis statement? (You should know this so well you dream about it!)  Ans: The three parts of a thesis statement are claim, reason, and strength.
  2. Where does a Thesis Statement belong in an essay? Ans: The Thesis statement belong in the introduction paragraph.
  3. What is a generalization? Why is it not helpful in creating a strong argument? Ans: A generalization is a general statement and it’s not helpful in creating strong argument because a general statement is a factual statement in which you cannot argue about.
  4. Create a Thesis Statement for the following prompt: Are museums still relevant now that we have the internet? Ans: Museums are still not relevant now that we have the internet because you can search up anything you like from google, people can just watch documentary videos on Youtube, and they can also watch online movies.
  5. Create a Thesis Statement for the following prompt: Is it okay to use family connections to get a job? Ans: It is okay to use family connection to get a job because, your family can help you on the job, you can feel comfortable to work with, and if your family member is the manager of that job then other employers won’t take you for granted.
  6. Create a Thesis Statement for the following prompt: Is listening to a book (an audiobook) the same as reading a book? Ans: Listening to an audiobook is not the same as reading a book because, reading out loud to yourself tend to make you remember more, you can read faster on a book then having to take your time listening, and reading can help you improve in vocabulary.
  7. Create a Thesis Statement for the following prompt: Does gender matter when it comes to electing a US president? Ans: Gender doesn’t matter when it comes to electing a US president because, it would be unfair if one gender gets to vote while the other gender doesn’t, more people means more votes, and both genders voting can make a difference in the society.
  8. Which article/topic will you focus on for Essay #2, Argumentative Essay? Ans: I chose “Who Signs Up To Fight? Makeup of U.S. recruits shows glaring disparity” by Dave Philipps and Tim Arango
  9. Why did you pick that article/topic? Ans: I chose this article because I wish to join the military after college as a career, and also I like how they are brave and how they serve the country as a team.
  10. When is Essay #2 Draft #1 DUE? How will you submit it? Ans: Essay #2 Draft 1 is due Sunday April 19th and we will be submitting it through google drive.
