Research Paper idea-Starbucks Logo

For my Logo reasearch paper, i decided to tackle the Starbucks logo. I stop and shop there for a quick cup of coffee daily. Their logo is very striking to me. Its recognizable, identifiable and simple. from a mile away, when you see that green logo, you know what your’e in for. I never questioned why their mascot is a mermaid, but with this paper, i can finally find out now.

Color Test!

I took a color test today.

I rearranged the colors  as Red, Yellow red, yellow, yellow green, green, Blue green, Blue, Blue Violet, Red Violet.

And here was my results.

My final score was a 0. At first i thought that was a bad thing, questioning why would a 0 be a perfect score? In what world is 0 a perfect score? But then i was reminded that a zero is indeed a perfect score on behalf of the test.

New Pics!!!!-Getty Images

These are some cool pictures of Iced Coffee i found from getty images, since i drink it whenever i get the chance to. The first image is a glass of iced coffee shot in a vertical angle, (which is 2414 x 3218, at 7.8 MP) which seems to be at its highest resolution. (since Medium quality was chosen.) It was the perspective that grasped my attention. The second image is a horizontal image of what seems to be an expresso (shot at 727 x 485, at 0.4 MP). I chose a smaller size for this image, but it still contains a high resolution of 300  dpi.

Sept. 12 Class Session

PNG-6.5 MB

JPEG-Maximum Quality (12) 1.6 MB

JPEG-Medium Quality (6) 369 KB

JPEG-Low Quality (0) 152 KB

PNG vs. JPEG Maximum Quality (12)

PNG Vs. JPEG Medium Quality (6)

PNG Vs. JPEG Low Quality (0)

The interesting thing about the TIFF size is that its so large that it won’t even upload. Its obviously better in quality than all the the other resolutions. also I noticed that the lower I went down the list, the quality began to shift drastically. I am glad I participated in this exercise because now I have gained new tricks.
