My Strength

My greatest strength lies in keeping an open mind and welcoming change. Throughout my life I was the one who hardly complaint about changes in my family. As a child I was know to be” happy go lucky” light hearted and carefree, changes doesn’t unravel me. In my nursing career, I notice when ever there is changes in practice, changes in equipment or in- services, or to float to another unit.  Some nurses are resistance to changes and complaint bitterly. However, I welcome changes I appreciate new approach and ideas on how things work. In the age of technology and ever revolving changes in nursing and health care heaving an open mind and welcoming changes is a great asset.

My Weakness

My weakness,  is taking on too much responsibility. I am the individual who rarely ask for help, I suffer silently trying to do every thing by myself, because I think asking for help is bothering or putting someone out of their way. In practice,  I tend to do the same thing, I take on too much responsibility doing non- nursing jobs instead of delegating. However, with my new learn skills in delegating from my leadership class I am doing much better delegating non nursing tasks  and not take on all the duties of nursing and non nursing tasks.
