Solution

The solution to this issue is not really a fix it to the problem, it’s more of a way to work around the issue. One of the main causes of this mass shortage is companies having to shut down manufacturing of Chips due to the pandemic. With this said, there is more demand than there is supply and that just doesn’t work. A nifty workaround is to allocate chip production to essential products. Instead of manufacturing chips for a product that is rarely replaced/outdated, such as a refrigerator, let’s allocate those resources to automobile semiconductor chips or computer processing hardware. This method is already being used in Japan and their economy has stabilized and remained stable through this pandemic so far.
