For my internship course, I was fortunate to obtain a position at New York App Designers (NYAD). At NYAD, I was introduced to my consultant, Khalidi Lawson. The company seems like a small company with some backend coders on a different site. So far, the only designers that are under NYAD is another classmate, Yu Xuan Cui and myself.
The primary business of NYAD is to create mobile apps for companies and businesses that do not currently have a mobile platform for business. At the beginning of the position, we were given some practice on the web based platform that creates the app. We chose a non-profit organization that we could relate to and make a app if they did not so already. I chose and created a app for the non-profit organization Bike NYC.
The company has some clientele that are small. Some having independent shops and restaurants such as El Mekkah, a hookah lounge in Brooklyn. It’s a small company that doesn’t have a lot of information on them. As a graphic designer, my role is to create imagery and content for the app when a user is navigating through the app. Attached are some images are created for the demo app BikeNYC
