Category: Internships

This week ended my 120 hours of internship at the School of Professional Studies. I enjoyed the intern period, though it was more of a clerical function than that of designs, the experience has enhanced my communication skills. During the working week I delivered a number of inter departmental mail, a little more than usual. Other than that, the week was causal. A few appointments were scheduled to meet with the Dean. No printing or scanning was done, but a couple of copies were made to accommodate a meeting. The Poster I designed will be printed and placed in the office of the School of Professional Studies.

this week I continue to work on the office poster which I happened to complete.  one bullet list were added, Human Services go it appropriate description, as well as Health Services Administration. Law was changed to Para Legal, and culinary received Hospitality. Accounting replace with Marketing and Fashion. finally, the atom were added to help with contract and visuals. Relevant document for office use and other transactions were scan, copied, and printed as necessary. Inter departmental mail were distributed to appropriate recipient. A few appointments were scheduled for students to see the Dean.  Every week is filled with appointments, both from students as well as Profs. and all else. All together, it was a pleasant working week.

This was the  fourth week of my internship, totaling 80 hours of 120. My clerical routing of answering phone calls have improved my communication skills significantly, one that is needed by all, regardless of their career goals. This week was more casual, yielding less phone calls, and fewer appointments; also, less messages, Copying, scanning, and, printing of documents.  The update on the office poster is in progress and is expected to be completed this week. One inter departmental mail were delivered.  The School of Professional Studies poster I created, and is updating  will take no drastic changes, but a few misrepresented words, typos, headers, and descriptions.

I answered phone calls, and also transferred calls to respected office employee. Messages were recorded from calls for employees not present. I scan and copied sensitive documents for the Dean. I also did some important printing for office purposes. I delivered a few Inter Departmental Mails respectively. I scheduled a number of appointment this week for students experiencing difficulties in their academic process that needs to be resolved with the Dean. Next week I am expecting to be updating the School of Professional Studies poster which is iconic to the office.

Worked four days, and completed twenty hours this week. The regular clerical routines were executed. I answered phone calls, recorded messages, printed documents at the Dean’s request, delivered inter departmental mails, and or, to specific individuals within the institution. The Dean needed a “News Letter” template, and assigned me the project. The template was simple, it just needed a header. In the header I placed the logo of the department with I created, and use a font name Century for the type face in urge point size, emphasizing on the words “News Letter.” and place a rule at the bottom. I formatted four pages, a single, a two, a three and a five column, so the person using the template can have more option of utilizing the grid based on their design concepts. All in all, it was a pleasant working week at the office of School of Professional Studies. Looking forward to next week.
