Slope fields on TV!

I’m watching an episode of Nova that’s about protecting Venice from sea level rise… check out what they just showed!

Photo of a TV showing a map with wind direction

Not a great photo but maybe the way that wind direction is indicated looks familiar???

This show is pretty interesting; the engineers in the class in particular might like to see how they use underwater gates to protect the lagoon during high tides and storm surges. If you’d like to watch, you can stream the episode for free here.

Unofficial/official room change

  • It looks like we will get to take over N701A starting next Tuesday, September 12. I’ll let everyone know if something interferes with this, but if you don’t hear from me, this will be our room for the rest of the semester.
  • For tomorrow only, Thursday, September 7, we’ll take over N702; the air conditioning was working there yesterday! This is an unofficial takeover, as we haven’t officially reserved the room but it should be available for us. If something interferes with our takeover, we’ll just move back to N718, but check for us in N702 first!

(Homer is talking about N718; both 702 and 701A have chalkboards and lots more space!)

New Calculus review just dropped

Animated gif of Marge Simpson saying, "That's the best review I've gotten."

After chatting with a few of you after class yesterday I realized that everyone can benefit from a comprehensive set of Calculus review materials. I’ve included a link in the menu above. If you’ve found other resources helpful, let me know and I can add them to the list for everyone to use. Enjoy!
