Room changes again!

I’m devastated to announce that we will not be moving into N701A after all (I’m devastated only because it’s my favorite room to teach in).

We might still be able to take over N702 but only on Thursdays. For tomorrow, Tuesday, September 12, we’ll head back to our officially assigned room: N718.

Stay posted for more room updates!

OpenLab assignment: advice from the future

Due Monday, September 18

Good study habits are developed from the beginning of the semester. Now that we are in Week 3 (out of 17 weeks), you can consider whether your current habits will lead to success in this course or if they need improvement.

At the end of last semester, I asked my MAT 2680 students to pretend they had a time machine and could go back in time to the beginning of the semester to deliver a letter to themselves explaining what it takes to succeed in this class. Right now, you are like those beginning-of-semester students and can benefit from the advice they wrote to their past selves!

For this assignment, you will read the comments on this post from last semester. Pick the comment that resonates the most for you and write a reply. Your reply should the following form:

“Hi [name of person who wrote the comment]! My name is [your name] and I am a current student in MAT 2680. Your letter to your past self is helpful to me now because [give some reasons you found their letter helpful; be as specific as possible and state either how you are following similar or advice already or plan to follow their advice moving forward].

Include any other details you wish to include.

You do not need to be a member of last semester’s OpenLab site to reply to a comment. You will receive participation credit for submitting your reply.
