In my previous employment as a dental assistant for four years before transitioning into dental hygiene, I gained valuable skills that are directly applicable to my DH career. Working closely with dentists and patients, I developed strong interpersonal and communication skills, which are crucial for effective patient education and rapport-building in dental hygiene. Additionally, my experience in chairside assistance and sterilization procedures increased my attention to detail and infection control practices. Moreover, my time management skills were refined through coordinating patient schedules and assisting in dental procedures, preparing me to efficiently manage patient care and treatment plans as a dental hygienist. Overall, my previous employment experiences have equipped me with a solid foundation of transferable skills that will contribute to my success in the field of dental hygiene.
