My name is Parvina Akhmadalieva and I am a first generation senior college student. I  came to the USA at age of 13. My parents had one goal and it was to provide me better education. My mom has sacrificed her career as a teacher and moved to America so I can live the American Dream. Since childhood I wanted to pursue career in dental field. When I entered Dental Hygiene program my mom was very proud of me and seeing her excitement motivates me to this day. My journey in this program has been a roller coster ride. Dental Hygiene program has taught me a lot, being that it involves the two things I love most, educating and teeth. In my opinion the dental hygienist’s most important role is that of an educator.  I am compassionate when it comes to teaching oral hygiene to my patients. I attribute this to people-skills I have developed over the years in this program.
