BUF 2255: Merchandising Planning & Buying
This course gives a general overview of current sales records and inventory control systems. The retail method of inventory, operating statements, planning strategies, and procedures for calculating mark-ups, markdowns, open-to-buy, and terms of sales are among the topics covered.
In particular, the course introduces the student to the mathematical ideas, methods, and analyses that are essential to the decision-making and purchasing processes. Retailing includes all commercial activities involved in obtaining products from manufacturers, distributing them to customers, and selling them to them.
