Due for next class on Miro:

  • SC-01 – Basic Sheet updated
    • start adding annotations and overall dimensions
  • SC-02 – Exploded Isometric updated
    • start adding annotations and overall dimensions
  • SC-03 – Kit of PartsΒ
    • Recommend using created families in a new project file to do this so that you do not have to keep hiding them in your main file. If you used families to make your objects, this should be relatively simple.
  • SC-04 – First Details Sheet –
    • Footing detail to column
    • Beam to columns connections
    • Column to column connection at splice
    • Start with a scale like 1 1/2β€³ to see if things work.Β  If you need more sheets continue to SC-05, SC-06 etc.

Push ahead as far as you can – work to complete the following in your Revit Model. Remember to model your own things, do not just download families or use pre-existing elements from the structural library. You will receive 0 credit if you do this!

  • Baseplates for columns
  • Concrete Footing
    • Complete the footing with parameters
    • If you can add the void hole – follow the PowerPoint tutorial – I will demonstrate next class
  • Hold Down Assembly
    • Threaded Rod
    • Washer
    • Nut
      • Assemble this as a Hold down assembly family – then load this family into the concrete footing
  • Instance Parameters pointers
    • Remember that some of the dimensions to locate the holes need to be locked to reference planes, not to the element itself
    • Some of the dimensions for the outside edges of the bottom of the footing need to be locked
    • Remember to make these instance parameters and to snap the objects to it.
  • Additional Revit Modeling I did not yet demonstrate – Follow the PowerPoint tutorials if you would like to keep going
    • Add the rectangular Splice plates for the columns
    • Add the fin plates to connect the column to the beams
