This logo represents two meaningful parts of my life: cherry blossoms and the beach. Visiting the Brooklyn Botanic Garden every spring since high school, and seeing cherry blossoms in Japan in 2023, deepened my appreciation for their symbolism of renewal and reflection. In Japanese culture, cherry blossoms represent life’s fleeting nature, impermanence’s beauty, and the importance of being present in the moment (Urban Flowers, n.d.). The beach has always been a place of peace and adventure, from snorkeling as a child to learning how to surf. Waves, often associated with emotional depth and movement, symbolize resilience, strength, and the ability to adapt through life’s constant changes (Wonderful Grass, n.d.). Together, these elements reflect a personal connection to travel, self-discovery, and the inspiration from embracing nature and growth.
