Week 10

The first illustration below will provide you with information strictly on fixtures. It is important for you to be aware of the different fittings need in order to install and both accommodate YOUR installation. It also gives you a basic over view of how many units (number of fittings and fixtures) are normally used. As well as the minimum drain size needed for each. Remember, sizing is extremely important when conducting plumbing installations.

The image below presents you with a DWV system that is done in cast-iron piping in the entire house. It also demonstrates the different elements within a drain, waste and venting system including where you would include traps for appropriate drainage.

Although there are variousĀ fittings included in a DWV system, IĀ found that the image presented below is very informative. The fitting below is known as a house trap, which is essential to a DWV system because it prevents backflow. However, what I like about this image in particular is that it provides you with an idea of what blockage is and where it can form if the pipe sizing is not done properly.
