INTRODUCTION TO FILM: ARTH 1112 3 class hours, 3 credits An introduction to the history of film from its beginnings in the late nineteenth century to the present. This class explores the origins and characteristics of the vampire figure in literature and folklore in order to trace the evolution of the vampire in 20th and 21st century American literature, film, and television.

This class explores the origins and characteristics of the vampire figure in literature and folklore in order to trace the evolution of the vampire in 20th and 21st century American literature, film, and television.

Students will learn to identify audiences and choose appropriate language, tone, and style in order to write, edit, and revise a variety of communiqués in various workplace scenarios. Revision documents may be internally created or externally appropriated, depending on the instructor’s discretion. Instruction in the protocols of revising, editing, proofreading, and associated tasks. An emphasis on the ability to rethink and adapt to ever-present writing exigencies.
