ENG 2400 Films from Literature, Spring 2020
This is a course comparing motion pictures to their literary source stories. D530 Fridays 11:30 – 2:00 This course will allow students to examine the relationship between film and their literary sources. Through classroom discussions and out-of-class assignments, students will analyze classic and contemporary literary texts and their cinematic versions. Students will examine the relationship between film and literature, with specific focus on the techniques used in fiction, drama and film and the influences of censorship and society. Students will focus on the similarities and differences of literary works adapted into films.
Basic tort and insurance law as it relates to personal injuries. Addresses intentional torts, negligence, strict liability, fire insurance, and workers’ compensation, using specific examples and cases to illustrate the relevant legal principles; duties and obligations of parties, interviewing and factual investigation techniques, as well as the preparation of pleadings and the organization of personal injury cases.
LAW1201 Legal Research I SP2018
Three credits; prerequisites are LAW 1101 and ENG 1101; LAW 1103 is a pre- or corequisite. A working knowledge of the law library is presented, including practice in finding statutes, cases and administrative regulations. Students are taught validating, and gain experience in using legal encyclopedias, digests and other sources. All these research skills are integrated within written assignments.
