Bio

My name is Sophia Nahyun Kim. I’m a communication design student at New York City College of Technology. I was majored in Hospitality for two years, but because I could not see clear vision and had no passion in this field, I decided to change my major to graphic design. I was always interested in graphic design since I was fourteen. Since then, I always expressed my feelings and ideas through drawing, creating on Photoshop and InDesign, photography, and many other things. You can visit my instagram page to see my works. Creating something out of nothing is a work that should be appreciated by the viewers. One of the artists that I’d love to share is Alex Eckman-Lawn. His works are outstanding, detailed, and bizarre in a way. You can visit his instagram to view his artworks. (@alexeckmanlawn) I also fell in love with the art pieces by Miles Johnston. His works are also bizarre. What is so attractive about his art is his creative ideas, line weight, details, color scheme, and how it balances out and so harmonious that it will definitely catch viewers’ attention. You can also visit his instagram. (@miles_art)

Just like the artists that I shared, my goal is to have and show the potentials, skills, and talents, and being appreciated by the viewers and future clients. Advertising design is one of the fields that I’m interested in. I think advertisement is something that gets rarely recognized or appreciated by viewers. I want to created something that is useful but also has its beauty of art. I want to be a designer who changes something that looks inexpensive to something that is high-end. Not only that, I want to be a designer who communicates with the people and the society.
