JonnelM’s Profile
Jonnel Mortley is a Registered Dental Hygienist Licensed to practice in State of NY and NJ . She completed her Dental Hygiene studies at CUNY Eugenio De Mario Hostos CC in the Bronx ,NY. Later on , completed the BS in HSA at New York City Tech and MHA at Colorado State University. Jonnel’s passion for dentistry stemmed from her experiences growing up in a third world country with minimum dental care and resources. It has no only driven her passion to deliver the highest standard of care in NYC but has also influenced her mission for creating positive experiences and access to care to children and adults overseas. She founded Healthy Smiles Project Inc., which is a Non Profit that goes into areas of third would countries that lack proper oral care and delivers necessary aid ; including preventative treatment, supplies and education. The pandemic has slowed the mission down for the last 3 years but with safer precautions and vaccinations , we will resume by Spring 2024. Jonnel had always dreamed of continuing her career in education and has taken the special opportunity to serve the CUNY community . She brings a wealth of knowledge on advanced procedures , technology and many years of experience in different specialties of Dentistry.

Principles of Dental Hygiene Care IV
Advanced didactic material and clinical experience. The instructor serves as a group facilitator who assists the student in developing an appreciation for the concepts, topics and procedures related to the clinical experience and in integrating the material into the practice of clinical oral hygiene.

Living Lab General Education Seminar Winter 2024
This is a collaborative space for use by Living Laboratory General Education Seminar participants. This seminar will concentrate on incorporating the general education outcomes of civic engagement, critical thinking, ethical reasoning, information literacy, and teamwork into our courses focusing on George D. Kuh’s High Impact Educational Practices, place-based learning, open pedagogy, and assessment practices.
