Bio

Pablo is a young animator/illustrator student currently enrolled at CUNY New York City College Of Technology. Pablo holds an Associates degree in Graphic Design from CUNY Kingsborough. After completing his Associates he quickly transitioned to City Tech to pursue his college career. Currently under the COMD Animation module Pablo is exploring the different branches of Communication Design such as advance levels of typography, logo design, illustration, animation, advertising, graphic design, 3D modeling and much more. Thanks to the expansive courses Pablo has completed at City Tech he has become very versatile. Pablo is open to networking with his fellow classmates “I will not be shy about connecting, we are the future artist of NYC if we’re going to work together is should start now!” – Pablo. We will explore the emergence of Science Fiction (SF) and examine its preeminence as interdisciplinary literary and artistic forms of pressing cultural importance. To accomplish this, we will read and watch significant examples of SF from its long history beginning with Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and concluding with cyberpunk. Students will have opportunities to demonstrate their learning through note taking, weekly writing assignments, a research essay, and an essay-format final exam. Applications to packaging, architecture, sculpture and environmental design and graphics. Materials and inherent properties governing their use in form and space.

Internship in Communication Design Assignment to field work/study situations of approximately eight to ten plus hours per week at a graphic arts-related internship site approved by the department internship director. Sites may be in areas such as advertising, printing, corporate communications or publishing. Students keep a log/journal to be shared in group seminars/discussions. Supervision is by faculty and by the job supervisor. Students will be required to keep a learning journal of their internship in the form of a blog using Open Lab.
