City Tech 101

This work­shop fo­cuses on help­ing new stu­dents tran­si­tion to col­lege life, and specif­i­cally to City Tech. The work­shop will en­hance the New Stu­dent Con­nec­tion with ad­di­tional in­for­ma­tion, ac­tiv­i­ties, and var­i­ous op­por­tu­ni­ties to con­nect with fac­ulty, staff, and cur­rent City Tech stu­dents. In ad­di­tion to learn­ing how to ac­cess a va­ri­ety of col­lege ser­vices and re­sources, stu­dents will de­velop per­son­al­ized plans for their col­lege ca­reer.

Undergraduate Research

Un­der­grad­u­ate Re­search

Re­al­iz­ing the value of the re­search ex­pe­ri­ence at the un­der­grad­u­ate level, this pro­ject is com­mit­ted to fos­ter­ing re­search op­por­tu­ni­ties for City Tech stu­dents. Fac­ulty and stu­dents can use this pro­ject as a place to share an­nounce­ments about re­search op­por­tu­ni­ties, as well as a place to offer in­for­ma­tion about the ex­pe­ri­ences stu­dents and fac­ulty have had in their re­search en­deav­ors. A hand­book on ef­fec­tive men­tor­ing, de­vel­oped by the Un­der­grad­u­ate Re­search Com­mit­tee, is cur­rently avail­able for down­load.

VR & AI Club

The Vir­tual Re­al­ity & Ar­ti­fi­cial In­tel­li­gence (VR & AI) Club at NYCCT seeks to ex­plore the in­ter­dis­ci­pli­nary prac­tices and ap­pli­ca­tions in­volv­ing Vir­tual Re­al­ity and Ar­ti­fi­cial In­tel­li­gence, in­clud­ing Mecha­tron­ics, Ro­bot­ics, Com­puter Vi­sion, In­ter­net of Things, and Em­bed­ded sys­tems, as well as the so­cial, psy­cho­log­i­cal and po­lit­i­cal im­pli­ca­tions of such.

Com­puter Sys­tems Tech­nol­ogy Col­lo­quium

The Com­puter Sys­tems Tech­nol­ogy (CST) Col­lo­quium is ded­i­cated to pro­vid­ing the stu­dents, staff, and fac­ulty of New York City Col­lege of Tech­nol­ogy, the City Uni­ver­sity of New York, and the greater pub­lic with ac­cess to in­for­ma­tion re­gard­ing the lat­est de­vel­op­ments in com­put­ing from both a re­search and in­dus­trial per­spec­tive. We strive to sched­ule speak­ers that have a promi­nent in­flu­ence in the com­put­ing field and that can en­gage our au­di­ence to have a deeper un­der­stand­ing and pas­sion for com­put­ers, soft­ware en­gi­neer­ing, pro­gram­ming lan­guages, net­works, and other top­ics.

Com­puter In­for­ma­tion As­so­ci­a­tion

The Com­puter is a stu­dent or­ga­ni­za­tion that pro­vides a cre­ative and safe learn­ing en­vi­ron­ment where col­lege stu­dents ma­jor­ing in com­puter re­lated courses and/or in­ter­ested in com­put­ers and tech­nol­ogy, work to­gether with other stu­dents to ex­plore their own ideas, de­velop skills, and build con­fi­dence in them­selves through the use of tech­nol­ogy. The com­puter club plan and or­ga­nize pro­jects and ac­tiv­i­ties with the pur­pose of en­hance tech­ni­cal skills and knowl­edge out­side the class­rooms and de­velop team work skills and in­ter­per­sonal com­mu­ni­ca­tions among the club mem­bers. Mem­bers will learn to ap­pre­ci­ate and enjoy a va­ri­ety of soft­ware ap­pli­ca­tions and tech­nolo­gies in­clud­ing such tech­nolo­gies as web de­sign, pro­gram­ming, net­works, video games de­sign, phone ap­pli­ca­tion de­sign and mul­ti­me­dia pre­sen­ta­tions. Citytech E-Sports Club

Citytech E-Sports Club

The Citytech E-Sports club is a com­mu­nity that bring stu­dents to­gether who have an in­ter­est in com­pet­i­tive gam­ing and gam­ing in gen­eral. The club aims to build a com­mu­nity where stu­dents can so­cial­ize, com­pete and ex­press their pas­sion for gam­ing and the com­pet­i­tive side to it. Mem­bers will be in a friendly en­vi­ron­ment where games are brought to a com­pet­i­tive level, being able to learn from each other, shar­ing strate­gies and de­vel­op­ing new knowl­edge. The club also seeks to be able to com­pete at col­le­giate com­pe­ti­tions at a na­tional level. Other plans in­clude host­ing local prized gam­ing tour­na­ments in the school it­self. CUNY Drone League

CUNY Drone League

Cuny Drone League. Build and fab­ri­cate, ex­plore and ex­pand knowl­edge, race and re­view, and de­velop av­enues to ex­pand upon the up and com­ing sport of Drone Rac­ing. CDL is stu­dent run and will es­tab­lish meet­ings based on mem­ber­ship, pro­vide ser­vices and help trou­ble shoot­ing, along with the es­tab­lish­ing (FAA) li­censed drone pi­lots.
