Student is assigned to find fieldwork/study situations of approximately eight hours per week at an internship site approved by the Department Internship instructor. Approved Sites include advertising agencies, graphic design firms corporate or non-profit design offices, publications art departments, photography or illustration studios, TV or multimedia production companies. Students will be required to keep a learning journal of their internship in the form of a blog using Openlab. A portion of the class will be devoted to presenting and sharing experiences with classmates. Students will learn how to assess their talents, update their resume, and promote themselves and their work through social networks during class meetings. Students will be required to extend their networking contacts using LinkedIn.

This beginning photography course explores the foundational concepts of light and exposure. Using dSLR cameras, professional lighting equipment and software, the student develops compositional skills and the ability to control photographic style to create visually engaging photographs.

The CUNY NYC Men Teach program provides academic and financial supports to program participants, with the goal of supporting them through the teachers certification and hiring process so they can enter the NYC teaching workforce as effective urban educators.
NYC Men Teach at Citytech is a active program that currently supports NYC Men Teach fellows from the two Citytech teacher degree programs–the Mathematics Education and the Career and Technical Teacher Education–as well as other students oriented towards a teaching career. Program fellows receive monthly metro cards, free certification exam vouchers and other financial incentives, as well as access to a dedicated program counselor who offer advisement and other academic supports. NYC Men Teach program fellows also convene for a semester-long seminar focused on culturally-responsive education. Come join us!
