This is a course in effective essay writing and basic research techniques, including the use of the library. College-level readings are assigned for classroom discussion and essay writing. This course will examine urban tourism as a vehicle of urban renewal and economic regeneration. The roles of government, business, and the community will be explored as well as issues of development, management, the environment and social equity. Students will create, market and conduct their own NYC culinary walking tour. Students will co-create the Hospitality Management Departmentā€™s NYC Culinary Guide to Restaurants and Food Shops on Open Lab.
