For over 30 years the Architecture Club has been one of the most influential clubs on City Tech’s campus. Each semester students and club members’ gain valuable knowledge from speakers who are invited to come and share their architectural experiences with the club. Nakamura’s research group based on Mechanical Engineering Department in New York City College of Technology (City Tech), The City University of New York (CUNY). This laboratory is a professional research unit, not a student club, but opens to everyone who would like to conduct research on energy, environmental engineering (including ecodesign), and computing for sustainability. Also, it’s for people who wish to obtain Research and Development (R&D) skills required in a high-level position in the industry and academia. Excellent students can be recommended to become research assistants in order to publish a paper as a co-author, and have an oral presentation in an international conference. These research activities make students’ resume strong (R&D skills, publication, professional presentation) and will be a huge advantage for finding an engineering position or being accepted to graduate schools for Master or doctoral degree. Environmentalism isn’t just about global warming, but how continuous harm to our planet affects marginalized communities: pollution, climate change bringing more hurricanes, fracking, etc. The Planeteers is all about how a greener planet is a better planet for all.
