Math analysis; conformal mappings
I have been a member of the mathematics department since 1973, and a mathematics educator for 55 years ranging from high school to college. I have conducted motivational seminars for underprepared high school and college students. I have also given many presentations at regional and national conferences concerning such students and the faculty who work with those populations. I was a founding member of the New York Metropolitan Association of Developmental Educators (NYMADE) and later served as the president and chair of the board of the organization. I also served as a member of the executive board on the National Association of Developmental Education (NADE), and a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), American Educational Research Association (AERA), and the North Eastern Educational Research Association (NEERA). I additionally served as a reviewer of proposals for presentation at the annual conferences of those organizations. I have taught a many course sections in basic high school mathematics, basic college mathematics, college algebra, solid geometry, analytic geometry, trigonometry, calculus 1, calculus 2, calculus 3, theory of equations, differential equations, and mathematical statistics and probability. I have conducted research on job satisfaction and the propensity to leave the job among community college faculty within NY State. I have also done research regarding conformal mappings of analytic functions. I have a BS degree in mathematics from Alabama State College, an MS in mathematics from Atlanta University and the Ph.D. degree in higher education from New York University.
