2021 Fall – MAT 2680 – Differential Equations – Reitz
A differential equation is an equation that relates a function to one or more of its derivatives. β The above rather boring description does little to convey just how fundamental, widespread, and amazingly effective differential equations are in describing the world around us. β Examples: Anything in motion. Also, many things that are not in motion. Also, many additional things to which the word βmotionβ does not really apply. β Further examples: spaceships in orbit, populations growing and shrinking, a cup of coffee slowly cooling, springs bouncing, financial markets rising and falling, electrical current flowing through a circuit, ocean waves, sound waves, light waves, vibrations in musical instruments and airplane wings and suspension bridges, β More examples: Pretty much everything. MAT1575 Calculus II Spring 2021
A continuation of MAT 1475. Topics include Taylor polynomials, Mean Value Theorem, Taylor and Maclaurin series, tests of convergence, techniques of integration, improper integrals, areas, volumes and arclength.
MECH 2322- Engineering Materials & Composite
An introduction to atomic and molecular structure of materials and its effect on the physical and Mechanical properties of materials in engineering applications. Structure of materials and their applications. Properties of materials, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, alloys, polymers, ceramics composites, adhesives and lubricants. Heat treatment, cold and hot working, phase diagrams and micro-structure. Experiments are performed on hardness, plastic deformation, annealing, nondestructive testing, metallurgy and computer problem-solving.
MAT1275CO College Algebra and Trigonometry FA2019
An intermediate and advanced algebra course. Topics include quadratic equations, systems of linear equations, exponential and logarithmic functions, and topics from trigonometry including identities, equations and solutions of triangles.
