Hi, my name is Daniel Jung and I am a freshman at City Tech studying Hospitality Management. My goals for this term are to really understand Hospitality Management and use the knowledge I have and learned from this major in my life. I have experience in the hospitality field as a part time employee at a cafe in Queens. I have been interested in cooking after trying many different varieties of food from a young age to now. I enjoy watching cooking shows in my free time as they show how exciting it can be in the kitchen. Eventually, I want to open a restaurant/cafe or a hotel of my own. Therefore, I am determined to do well in my classes and hopefully achieve my dream.

1102 Intro to Hospitality Management F2023
A two-part foundation for food and beverage management, focusing on culinary math and procurement methods. The culinary math component focuses on accurate measurement, portion controls, recipe conversions, product yields, and inventory methods. Current market and procurement trends are explore, with an emphasis on product identification.
Students are guided through an overview of the history, likely directions and organizational structure of the hospitality industry and its role in local, national and global economies. Students are introduced to the nature and scope of the hospitality industry, basic terminology, management concepts, career path explorations and the department’s mission and culture.
