Bio

I am Li Lin, a sophomore student in City Tech. My major is Chemical technology since I am so interesting in chemical reaction and how those reactions have the impact on the drugs. Now I am taking associated classes preparing to transfer to Brooklyn College in Chemistry program. The ability to study drugs and how it supports people base on different compounds of substances is truly a fascinating subject. I want to do some chemistry researches, which are relating to our real life, so I can use what I learned and absorbed to explain and support in the life. Now I will be working in Prof. Martinez ‘s chemistry laboratory to study the treatment of alzheimer’s disease(AD). AD is the common and incurable form of dementia that suffers a lot of elders worldwide. I really want to figure out any compound that can control this disease and then elders will not undergo this disease anymore. This Bridge Program was very helpful in my decision to achieve my Bachelor’s degree and entirely broadens my horizon. I start my first research and meet many amazing mentors in the filed itself including awesome peers. This was truly a career chasing experience for me that I am grateful to have had an opportunity to participate.

Strengthening Research Interactions through Digital Expression (STRIDE)

STRIDE is a digital infrastructure using the OpenLab platform that converges a variety of science resources and applications bearing a capacity for enriched engagement in research, and community building. More that a mere website for the NIH Bridges to the Baccalaureate at City Tech, it will contains the following components: • A resource center of digital presentations of faculty mentors research interests/profiles. • A multimedia library of faculty/student research project presentations. • An online journal of students’ scholarly works in research including the sharing of conference abstracts and papers. • Digital platform for an interactive research community that includes online social media.
