Camille Ragland’s Profile
Hello, my name is Camille and I’m interested in technology. I’ve dipped my hands in many different skills such as programming, web design, game development, and IT. I’m currently looking into more design-based skills, as I feel my technical skills are already great, but I can always learn more.
My Courses
ENT 4499 Culmination Project FA 2022 – SP 2023
The senior thesis project, utilizing skills in an innovative way to develop a project that relates to the entertainment industry. Projects are developed through courses in the entertainment technology and/or emerging media technology programs. Projects require approval by the advisor and must demonstrate management, technical design and presentation skills. Documentation of planning, design and realization is presented to a committee of instructors, both in entertainment technology and related disciplines, as well as to industry professionals selected by the student and approved by the advisor. Though students enroll in this course during their senior year, development of the project should begin during the second semester of the junior year.
MTEC 1102-OL22, Production Practices, FA2020
This course is a hands-on introduction to the best practices for production techniques used in games, interactive and tangible media product development. Students will acquire a deep understanding of content generation, technology pipeline and delivery systems for creating web, mobile, games, virtual & augmented reality, interactive installation and museum display, wearables and physical computing. Students will learn the roles and responsibilities, build the skills for each role, as well as apply the design and development processes for each medium. They will be introduced to design thinking and rapid prototyping techniques, as well the green light process essential to bringing a product to market. The structure of this course emphasizes an integrated and multi-modal approach to game design, interactive media and physical computing with modeled instruction and practice in the technical aspects of production.
Reading and Writing
MTEC1101-D290 Emerging Media, Sp2020
This course is an introduction to emerging, interactive multi-media technology with a focus on interdisciplinary, project-based, cooperative learning. Students will be immersed in the protocols and processes of emerging and interactive media design, including: idea development, research, documentation, presentation, prototyping, and production, which will serve them in the face of rapid changes in technology. Students will explore basic theoretical and applied concepts of audio, visual, haptic, immersive, sensory and interaction design through creative group projects, visiting professionals, field trips and online documentation of their work.
Game Design and Media Skills Lab
This 3 hour Lab consists of a series of workshops that offer supportive instruction and training in a verity of software programs, digital tools and platforms. Specifically, we will be s working with WordPress, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, Audacity, Audition and Unity. These workshops are introductions to the programs and tools for digital imaging, graphics, video, sound, and interactive design. The workshops are designed to foster a culture of collaboration and sustainable learning communities. Students will be expected to complete a series of guided assignments that cultivate digital skill sets as well as conceptual frameworks, which lend themselves to interactive storytelling and game studies. Active participation in class is required as well as timely completion of assignments. Students will be maintaining portfolio blogs in which they will post all assignments. Students are also required to reflect on each post and discuss in writing their ideas, and challenges in completing the assignment. This is a portfolio-based class and in order to complete the course successfully, students are required to have a completed online portfolio and to have actively participated in critiques.

We are a design club at New York City College of Technology. We host Meet the Pros (facebook.com/meetthepros) speaker series and we release an annual design magazine, Command+J.
The Virtual Reality & Artificial Intelligence (VR & AI) Club at NYCCT seeks to explore the interdisciplinary practices and applications involving Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence, including Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Vision, Internet of Things, and Embedded systems, as well as the social, psychological and political implications of such.
A space to build & playtest creative tech projects. Come make video games, immersive art, virtual worlds, VR/AR experiences, 3D models, and anything else you can think of â every Thursday from 1-2pm. All skill levels + majors welcome! (We’re 100% online for Fall 2020! Hang out with us via voice chat on Discord: https://discord.gg/sQUjMN6) Every 2 weeks, we pick a new topic (apps, environment art, interactive fiction, 3D modeling…) and challenge you to make a mini project on it. Each one comes with tutorials, inspiration + download linksâ so you don’t need any experience to join. Find your favorite role, team up with other students for passion projects, have a support system for when you get stuck, and try something new.
