My name is Britney . Iâm an 18 year old first year college student in the communications design major . What am I gonna do with this major ? I have no idea as yet . All I know is that I want to work for myself and make bare money . I would love to go back to the country where I was born , Jamaica , and build my own house . I just want to live comfortably and hopefully I will .

2020 Fall Term (1) Communication Design II COMD 2400 OL12[26425]
In this course, students learn to refine their conceptual thinking, and the ability to apply design concepts across various media channels. This course challenges students to think and strategically apply campaign ideas. At this stage, students choose a media placement and incorporate it into the solution. Project based assignments from concept through final digital output are an integral part of the course. The course also introduces the collaborative relationship between Art Director and Copywriter. Student teams brainstorm, develop copy, art direct and pitch ideas in teams. Students will explore the dialogue between products and services and how to communicate their benefits and features to the intended target.
COMD3501 OL26 IDENTITY DESIGN FA2021
Students will develop a robust and unified visual identity for a cultural institution including a logo, brochure and ad campaign. We will explore the elements that make an identity appropriate, engaging and cohesive. Color palette, iconography and type selection will be discussed. Slide lectures, assigned readings, videos and class critiques will augment the design process. The final project will be presented in the form of a pdf booklet and will include evidence of process as well as applications. Process will consist of research, mind mapping and logo development sketches. Guidelines for logo usage will be developed.

This course is a practical introduction to the field of illustration. Focus will be placed on process work and professional practices, presented within contemporary and historical context. Course includes projects and lectures in a variety of illustration genres including: advertising, book illustration, and editorial. A variety of materials will be introduced through lectures and demonstrations for use on assignments such as: pencil, pen and ink, brush, and digital illustration. Critical concepts such as: Conceptual Development, Working on Assignment, Composition, Contrast, Value, Point of View, and Color theory will be introduced.
COMD1112 Sec.D112 Friday Digital Media Foundations
This course introduces students to core concepts underlying all digital media âgraphic design, web, broadcast, animation, illustration and game designâthat the ADGA department offers in its associate and bachelor degree program. Weekly lectures explain technical concepts such as resolution, compression, and color space, concepts that allow students to produce creative work across media with more predictable results. Students work with a variety of graphic arts software programs to reveal how the software applicationâs tools and menus incorporate the scientific principles discussed during lecture.
