ENG1141 Creative Writing, FA2021 OL20
All writing is creative, including the writing you do for school, internet posts to social media, and text/email messages. Where there was a blank pageâvirtual or otherwiseâand you fill it with your words, you have, in fact, drawn on your intellectual resources to create patterns of meaning with those words. âCreative writing,â however, generally refers to poetry, fiction, drama, and some forms of non-fictionâmemoirs and narratives that use the techniques of story-telling. We will focus on understanding how form and meaning work together and on understanding the types and complexities of each genreânotably, fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama, and cross-genresâso each student can begin to develop their unique, individual voice.
2021 Fall – MAT 2680 – Differential Equations – Reitz
A differential equation is an equation that relates a function to one or more of its derivatives. â The above rather boring description does little to convey just how fundamental, widespread, and amazingly effective differential equations are in describing the world around us. â Examples: Anything in motion. Also, many things that are not in motion. Also, many additional things to which the word âmotionâ does not really apply. â Further examples: spaceships in orbit, populations growing and shrinking, a cup of coffee slowly cooling, springs bouncing, financial markets rising and falling, electrical current flowing through a circuit, ocean waves, sound waves, light waves, vibrations in musical instruments and airplane wings and suspension bridges, â More examples: Pretty much everything. Topics include methods of solving ordinary differential equations and applications to various problems. Avatar and site header created using https://hipsterlogogenerator.com/
