Day Attended to Event: October 15, 2024
Event Name: COMD @ City Tech – Adobe MAX Watch Party 5pm – 7pm
Because my Monday class was scheduled to today, I had a chance to drop in and see what the event was about.
I thought Adobe professionals would be in the school but unless due to my lateness (my Monday class is 2:15pm – 5:30pm) I don’t think I saw any? There was food and drinks and while tempted by the pizza a bit, I gratefully declined, mostly since I’m watching myself before my Doctor’s Appointment in 10 days. Any who, after walking into the room, I stood for a bit, watching the livestream with the others. Adobe talked about a new program or so where you’d see the quick process of an image to animation made with seemingly at a click of a button. I did find it to be interesting but, another professor, who seemed to be the Host of the watch party, pointed out that to Non-Creatives, they’re like “This is wild/amazing!”. To Creatives, you know this is a pre-rendered video and it takes way more time than a few seconds and a minute for all of that to become a good finished product.
To which, they were right but for the imagery that was shown, I kinda, honestly liked it.
Sadly I had to leave early since my Ma doesn’t want me out after dark for too long, especially due to the trains and how long they are at times, so I at least stayed for 30mins before leaving with someone who I recognized. Apparently they are in my Monday class and I didn’t notice him there at the time of that day? Whoops!
Either way, seeing other students in the event was enjoyable. Made me reminisce of the old gaming club City Tech used to have pre-pandemic. Maybe when I have more free time, I could attend to stuff like that more.
