Class Day: Nov 6th, 2024
Log Keeping Days: Nov 6th – Nov 12th
Nov 7th, I did a handful of Internship hours by helping Jay van Buren (Membit) with making and exporting graphics for a 3D program called Vectary. I could’ve taken all of them to do but I decided to take roughly half so Anthony Bermejo Vazquez, (a classmate of mine who I met the prior semester in 1 COMD class and now in 3 out of my four classes this semester, lol) can have his fair share. Because as much as I want to catch up on hours, I don’t wanna be mean about it, ya know? I’m aware that Anthony is busy from the times I’ve talked or overheard him prior so he could have less hours or the same as me to catch up on Internship.

On Nov 8th I aimed to go to the other location, that being Ghost Hunt after class but forgot my Membit Phone, so I’m going to have to go after class. Thankfully we’ll go early after presentations so meeting up with my Ma will still work. That and make sure the phone has charge. Before the last presentation of the class, Jay from Membit contacts Anthony and I to aid in making the other half of the graphics into the 3D program. I offered to Anthony to split up the efforts again since as stated earlier and on Slack, I’m aware he has work to do and helping with the efforts just generally helps. When I talked to him (in class) he agreed to split the work so that’s nice. He also told me he started working for Membit 2 weeks before I did, so that’s also good to know to gauge an idea of how many hours we both have. After one more student came in to present I left after modifying my web portfolio a bit.
I went home to go eat, retrieve my Membit Phone and to go meet up with my Ma at Borough Hall as we made our way.
To be honest, we got lost for a bit. While the Membit app tells us where a location is from faraway, it doesn’t when we get close up (at least for as much as I messed with it), so that bites.
But unlike last time, my Ma and I managed to find the Mall where the Membits were located. Even if no sound played from them, I was happy to discover them. Here’s some pictures from the day:
Membit has a Slack and I’m going to share what I wrote since it contains a funny memory, especially:
“Whole sadly none of them played audio when I tried it, my Ma and I did have fun going through the Mall and finding the ghost Membits hidden outside and within. Hilariously when trying to find the one outside first, the image appeared in the middle of my screen for a split second, almost as if in a jumpscare manner.
I’ll show the pictures that were taken throughout the trip. (Also, speaking of, I think we found Membits of prior folks too which was interesting. One of which scared my Mom because we saw them twice, haha.)”

On Novemeber 9th, I took time off since yesterday was not only a class day but I did a lot of walking from trying to find and discovering the Membits. I did message to Mr. Jay confirming the lack of audio issue I encountered.

On November 10th, Mr. Jay asked me and Anthony if 4pm PST/7pm EST on Tuesday works for our weekly meetings, to which is does for both of us. I also got asked if I could pick up on the flag work that Anthony left off with. I replied saying I thought it was completely done when I looked back at the chat about it. Hours later, Anthony comes in noting he’s going to resume the work for it and finished it.

On November 11th, Mr. Jay invited Joseph Von Stengel and announced work to be done on the Highline, viewing, making video recordings, and taking still images of Joseph Von Stengel’s artwork. Mr. Jay wanted Anthony and I to find the time to meet at the Highline to do it together, get a over the shoulder video of one of us looking at the AR (Augment Reality). I requested to work remotely on this one.

On November 12th, we had our weekly video call but due to something taking longer than expected on Mr. Jay’s end, we couldn’t do the full meeting but Anthony and I did talk on plans with the Highline. (Also since there was a fire going on at the time and as a asthmatic, I shouldn’t be breathing in that air.) I help with the editing and such and Anthony gets the footage, roughly half n half.
