• If the humans had been more careful with throwing their waste and contributing to drilling the ground and getting all of its water into the freshwater, then that 70% of marine litter could have been prevented by turning the plastic waste into a means for reusable energy so that the environment may benefit more.

Filled up Bins

In places like Brooklyn and Queens, there is one garbage bin every 4-5 blocks and most of them are already filled up. So people are either forced to add on to the already filled bin, walk very far to find an empty one, or believe it or not just litter. A solution to this is funding the sanitation department and adding more bins to every other block. This can mean anything from cleaning the streets to managing garbage.

You can buy a reusable plastic or an aluminum container and reuse and refill your water.

Paper and Cloth Bags

You can buy a cloth or get paper bags and although it leads to an increase in paper bag consumption you are decreasing the amount of plastic use.
