Why do students procrastinate?
My research question is: Why do students procrastinate? What are the factors that lead to procrastination? This topic interests me because personally I would like to learn about why I feel so unmotivated to get things done on time. I have noticed this become a bad habit for not only me but also my peers at school and work. I’m eager to research the factors that dwell into the state of mind of procrastination in students because it will give me clarity on why so many of us feel this constant sense of procrastination. I’m intrigued to find out the factors that cause this state of mind in young adults . I’m also interested in understanding how society can fix this social issue that affects millions of people. I already know that procrastination is more common in young adults in our society specifically students. I’m aware that social media influence plays a major role in this bad habit because of how interactive and addicting it can be. Students procrastination levels have worsened in the past decade meaning it’s becoming a greater issue in our society. Some points that I plan to explore and find more about are the scientifical reasonings to procrastination, how psychological factors dwell into this habit and how environmental and social influences play a crucial role in procrastination nowadays.
I’m very interested in this because I’m a victim of procrastination myself, but if there is a way social media and other problems cause this, you might also be able to present a solution to this growing problem.
I am also a procrastinator and I also believe that social platforms influence the procrastination and distracts people. I think this is a good research topic to write about that will give lots of information.
Hey Briana, why students procrastinate is really important, especially since so many young people deal with it today. As you mentioned, social media plays a big role in distracting us, making it harder to focus. I can relate to this, as I have also seen how easy it is to put things off, whether it’s studying or working. Personally, I’ve noticed the struggle between staying productive and getting caught up in distractions. I’m interested like you, I’m curious about why we procrastinate, especially when emotions like stress or anxiety make it worse. By exploring this topic, will be able to understand procrastination better and find ways to avoid it to help improve in grades, do work on assignments on time. The source you used procrastinate is out of control demonstrates how delaying tasks or avoiding work has become a habit that’s difficult to break, like it’s not in our control.
Im definitely looking forward to it.
