Updated RAB Proposal Paragraph – Ryan Deonarine

My research question is why are Americans against the transfer from gas vehicles to electric? This topic pulls my interest because cars have been a big part of my life and who I am. Specifically gas vehicles, since I was younger I had always found amused by fast, slick, loud cars. And when I grew up that didn’t change, after getting my first project car and fixing it up I drove everywhere. Ive been to many different states just to enjoy the journey and the scenery. Although I have a connection with the unlimited possibilites gas cars and bring, electric vehicles are the better option in terms of a everyday car. With that being said a lot of Americans disagree. For the most part people question the reliability, convience and most importantly the cost. The production cost might be not far from gas vehicles since the production of the battery but it makes up for it with the rest of its lifetime. The cost of charging a battery is far less then a gas car even when factories and or building stations arent zero emission. Though the vast majority doesnt think so and who’s to blame when a brand new product that is life changing is being almost forced upon the whole automotive industry.

  1. Electric vehicles are a viable choice in helping the environment, and I find it interesting whether the government should step in for this though.

  2. Electric Vehicles are definitely catching up to modern standards of usage. Gas cars or (ICE) can be very quick for pumping gas, and have been around for a long time. But Despite (EV) taking long to charge, newer models offer longer mile range, meaning there will be less charge time and more time to travel. I also enjoy talking long hours about cars but Electric Vehicles are definitely catch up but they definitely won’t replace all (ICE) due to the high amount of people that prefer them.

  3. Sounds like you are skeptical whether EVs are really the best way forward and whether American can really move to EVs. Is that right? Maybe you need to work that into your proposal to clarify what you think at the beginning of this project. Remember the Proposal is what you know and what you personally think BEFORE you do the research. Would these wordings help you? If so, you can add these questions to your proposal:

Are electric vehicles the best way forward in America? Should we be phasing out gasoline cars in favor or EV? Are Americans ready to move to EVs?

You write: This topic interests me because as a person who travels and goes on road trips almost every month this looks to be something that can limit that. This part is unclear. Please write more clearly what you mean.
