Do ARG(alternate reality games) help with real world problem solving skills? why?
A few years ago I found a video about some Minecraft cryptic series of puzzles being debunked one day and got really intrigued by it. After that I wanted more of that kind of content and eventually branched into watching more explanations of all types of ARG’s. I knew a few things from knowing coding and also knew a few things from other things I’ve learnt in the past, but one day I got hit with an actual ARG in the wild. When I saw it of course I had to get involved. In doing so I was a big contributor in solving this ARG, learnt a few things and realized, some of these things I apply in solving the codes are used in just normal activities.
In this research paper I will write about ARG’s. What they are and why people should be interested in them. The required skills that are required to be able to take part in an ARG, and the reason those skills are required. It would be interesting to learn the most useful skill you can take from ARG’s and how they implement in day to day life. Another question that would be is why ARG’s are as complicated as they are, and the inspiration and origin of this type of storytelling.
