  1. Fast food definitely needs to be regulated, especially with the weight problem this country has. It maybe easily accessible, but is it healthy. How can we make it better in terms of quality? This is a great research question.

  2. Your RQ’s are very thoughtful, although every time I hear about nuclear energy, radioactive waste comes to my mind. Is there a reason why we can’t get rid of nuclear waste and why we should use it?

    1. Nuclear waste is recyclable, however the issue is with the cost. There’s many factors that go into it but the main reasons are the low uranium prices and the risk of nuclear proliferation. Basically spent nuclear fuel has to first be transported, most of the times internationally, in order to be recycled and that’s where the concern lies. So instead most of the time it’s just stored away in specially designed facilities.

It’s important to also note that over 90% of nuclear waste is low-level, it’s that 3% of the waste which are the actual spent fuel rods that make up over 95% of the radioactivity

  3. Hey Jelani, from my perspective your first two research questions are very unique, and I have less knowledge about them. It’s interesting the fact that you choose it. And I see that you seem to know a lot about it before the research. Specifically, I’m mostly curious about nuclear energy. It’s more of science-based question. If, if you choose to work more on nuclear energy some questions that I will want to learn is what is nuclear energy? what’s the purpose of nuclear energy? How does it impact us humans and our environment? Without nuclear energy how would it be? Also, as you said, why does nuclear energy seen in a negative way? This question kind of shows that nuclear energy has bad effect. Like, is it seen negative because of how nuclear energy is produce? Therefore, this research question is going to be very fun and creative to learn about because there is a lot of information to this topic.
