updated RAB proposal paragraph – Andrew C

My research question is how does music affect peoples health. This topic interests me because music will always be a part of my life. I love music and I think it does many things for me. It can help me get work done, it helps with anxiety and boosts my mood. I already know that music can affect mood as well as anxiety. Music can build a strong influence to your life whether it affects your mood, spending habits or style of choice. Music can even help with learning. some points I plan to explore and find out more about are how exactly does music affect mood. If music has an affect on memory. as well as if music actually does have an effect on anxiety.

  1. Your RQ must be more speçific. How does music affect peoples lives? this is too general and too broad. Exactly what part of people’s lives? Choose one aspect and focus on that:

Their health? Their mood? Their mental health? Their brain? Their ability to study and concentrate?

Think a bit more. What part of people’s lives are you going to explore?

    1. Hi Andrew,

I agree with Professor Wu’s feedback that your research question could benefit from being more specific. “How does music affect people’s lives?” is a great starting point, but narrowing it down will help make your research more focused and impactful. For example, you could explore how music affects mental health or productivity. I noticed you’re interested in how music influences learning, so maybe you could focus on how it impacts memory retention or study habits. That would give you a clearer direction and make your research question stronger. You’re on a good path, and I’m excited to see where you can take this.
