“Practice doesn’t make “perfect” it makes permanent.”
This quote reminds me that hard work is needed in whatever I’m doing and to only get better at something I must stay constant to ensure true success. Some time ago I had big dreams of being a professional basketball player. My role model was Kobe Bryant and he would always stress the importance of practice and working hard. I didn’t just only apply this mindset in basketball though I applied it to my daily life. For Example, in school, I was a terrible student because I never put much effort into my schoolwork and this resulted in my grades being low compared to my peers who were giving it their all. I asked one of the smartest people I know what makes them so smart and they said practicing what I learned helps a lot. Once I heard this I knew I had to work harder to improve my grades.
This quote could also be related to another quote I live by “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” – Kevin Durant if you notice most of these quotes are said by professional athletes. I believe these quotes aren’t just for people who play sports but both quotes could be used in our day-to-day life to improve our daily mindset when it comes to wanting success.
OK — this is a quote said by WHOM?
I am actually asking for a real life situation that happened in your educational life, for a conversation with a mentor figure who said something negative or hurtful. So look at my example and you will see that my writing is about a real life conversation with my father and it sparked an inner change in me. After this I would learn that I didn’t want to be the perfect student who just studied and achieved good grades and never thought about what I really wanted to do for myself.
SO is this that type of interchange / dialogue between you and a mentor figure?
