Success Tips – Jerick Espinal

Tip 1: Understand Deadlines
I believe this tip could be really helpful for me during college. This will definitely help me out during college since this was a big problem I had during high school. I would usually just leave most of my work for last minute when I had any sort of work for school and it caused me to usually rush the work in for a grade or never do the work at all due to not being worth anymore. Before in high school, I wasn’t really caring much since most of it was able to be done once again in class since some of the assignments lasted around a couple of days. But, in college I noticed that there isn’t any sort of lateness towards works like before. When before I would get points off for handing it in late but, in college it seems even handing in my work even a day late could affect my grade heavily, especially if it’s an important assignment. So I find it very important and a bit mandatory that I should be completing my work on time so that I don’t lose points or even then again not get any points at all for my work.

Tip 2: Find Study Skills That Work For You
This tip is definitely a more overlooked one but, I still find it a very important tip for college. Being able to find ways that you find comfortable to study in could actually be more beneficial than just trying to copy someone else’s style of studying. It could definitely help in the long run since studying in a way that you find comfortable could make it easier to remember the notes that you are trying to study. Even your studying would consist of taking breaks here and there, it can still be more helpful in the long run as long as you are able to remember the information you are studying. I feel like finding a unique way to study your notes for yourself could definitely boost your grades up in the long run and could even be taken past your college years since it can be used as a good way for you to remember things that you need, whether it’s singing it in a little song or listing them by the first letter of each word and etc.
