My name is Mohammad, and a big part of who I am is where I come from. Both of my parents are originally from Bangladesh. It’s located in the southern part of Asia. I have 1 sibling and live with both my parents and my sibling. We all immigrated here when I was about 7 years old. Which kind of made me lack all of the memories I had back home. I’m still undecided about a major but leaning towards construction management, so I can hopefully have my own construction company one day. I really am excited about my future in city tech and to see what comes out of it.
To be honest this whole college thing has me confused about what to do. Everything about this entire experience is brand new to me and feels weird. Using new websites to turn in assignments, new buildings and classes to get used to, and also just the overall feeling of not being with my friends back in high school. For the couple of days that I had class last week, college felt nothing like high school. Everyone is minding their business and no one is forcing you to go anywhere. I just want this degree from college not only for myself but also to make my parents and my whole family proud. Since they are all supporting me through this experience I wouldn’t want to let them down. My overall goal is to just get through these 4 years of college by meeting new people and hopefully creating a career for myself.
Welcome to our class! Yes college is a huge transition. However with a little time you will settle in. Just don’t let yourself fall behind. That would be my message/tip to everyone!
