Tip 1: Try New Things
One tip I believe I could benefit from the most, is to try new things. As a matter of fact, two new things I’m doing currently is figuring out how to get used to OpenLab, as well at put my homework in a tracker. Overall, I think it’s a pretty cool website so far, with all the tabs and available customization. Regardless, I’m open to trying mostly anything, if it means being able to keep up in my classwork and making my overall life easier. I think this would apply even more if it was a strategy regarding studying for a long period of time, since that’s troubling for me sometimes. I tend to try and tough things out, if it means I’d get an answer, eventually. However, after reading this, I do acknowledge that one thing might not work for everything, so I definitely do think I’d be open to absorbing new ways to smartly get through classes.
Tip 2: Checking the Syllabus
Adding on, I believe checking my syllabuses will be a significant help as I navigate my education. Personally, my ideal situation when it comes to anything new is to find out all I can about it beforehand. Such practice is called being better safe than sorry, and I am all for it, honestly. Thankfully, my professors have assigned mostly everything I need to know about the semester in one or two documents, which gives me easy reference to get back to. In doing this, I minimize risk of me loosing track of my assignments, and potentially forgetting that I had anything in the first place. I plan to use this tip constantly, especially since funnily enough, I always feel like I forgot to do something.
Checking the syllabus is a significant help. It allows you to keep up with material such as homework. I admire your practice of being safe than sorry. This is a very proactive way of making sure you know what you are doing. Similarly I also put checking the syllabus as one of my chosen tips I am glad we both feel like this is important tip.
Hi Jazmyn,
I totally get where you’re coming from! Trying new tools like OpenLab and using a tracker for homework sounds like a great way to stay organized. I’m also getting more familiar with how open lab works. I was so lost at first. I find that checking syllabuses regularly helps me keep track of assignments and deadlines. It’s definitely reassuring to have everything laid out clearly.
Checking the syllabus is something I highly agree with. Just knowing everything before it even happens is always great. Also the second tip is something I need to be doing. Sticking with the same types of habit isn’t always good, so I need to try new things. Great tips.
Hi Jasmyn, I really like both of tips. I like the idea of not being afraid of trying new things because you never know what might work best for you. Using open lab for the first wasn’t easy but after using it for some time it gets better! I agree knowing the syllabus before hand helps you stay organize.
Good to learn that you trying hard to be organized! Being organized is super important and so is learning all about the assignment!
