Architecture Design II

This course contains examples of  study models, architectural drawings and visual models.

BRIDGING SURFACES

This project was based on the idea of connecting two buildings with a overpass/bridge-like structure joining the two buildings from the 5th & 6th floors. As well as providing a connecting ramp between floors on  the structure.

For this project we looked at ideas such as space and light and how to use them in our structures.

VERTICAL STAGE PROJECT

The goal of this assignment was to design a vertical structure that explores opportunities for staging  interactions and orchestrating connections to the urban landscape in response to the unique sectional characteristics of the site.
Using stairs or/and ramps we designed a vertical link connecting the Brooklyn Bridge Park, an interior public space and a public roof garden at the former Empire Store warehouse located in DUMBO, Brooklyn, NY. The new vertical link will negotiate the existing west exterior wall with its openings as its immediate site.

For the design of the vertical stage I used the movement and geometry of a ballerina as inspiration.

SURFACE SPACE & THRESHOLD

The purpose of this project was create a space, a threshold where people would enter before getting into the vertical stage. It was design to have an information area, 2 unisex bathrooms, a storage unit and a gathering space.

For this project we also explored and rendered images using   Lumion v8.3.
