Project Description

“Piano Plunk” will be a 2 player music game that teaches tonality and keys by challenging players to only use musical chords in order to hit the ball back and forth. This game will be developed through Unity and will be designed and built as a physical game. Inspired by arcade cabinets, this game will have a physical build including,  make use of 2 piano controllers, a sound output (speaker) and led lights.

Despite being a music technology major, I want to continue to expand my knowledge in other types of media and have always had an interest in video games and game development. Throughout my college experience I have explored the various ways audio is incorporated across industries. City Tech in particular, has taught me how visual media and sound goes hand in hand to deliver immersive stories. I feel like ending my time at City Tech with developing a music game would be going in full circle.

“Piano Plunk” will put everything I’ve learned at City Tech to the test.  I will gain a better understanding of coding and programing as well as familiarizing myself more with Unity. This will give me experience in designing and troubleshooting as well as build my leadership skills in production.
